An invitation to learn about the Torbay Archive Service

You do not have to visit the Exeter Heritage Centre to inspect documents which may in the event be of no interest.
Brian Carpenter, their Community Learning Officer, will bring selected items to you at the Torre Abbey Learning Centre on a quarterly basis. Brian is very approachable and eager to help.
We have used this service most successfully and would like to encourage other local groups to do the same.
Documents can be ordered online via the Centre website and if humanly possible (can be carried in the car) Brian will transport them to Torre Abbey where they can be examined, discussed and photographed.
Representatives from a number of our neighbouring local history groups have accepted our invitation to a presentation by Brian Carpenter on 30th September 2022 where the use of the archive search facility will be illustrated.
We invite you to meet Brian and representatives of our neighbouring heritage organisations and see a demonstration of the ordering system and examples of our findings.
Space in the hall on the 30th September will be limited and we are therefore having to limit the numbers attending
