An illustrated talk by Sandy Howard.
The talk starts with the earliest known references to Greenway and uses maps, documents and paintings to illustrate the largely hidden history of Greenway prior to its Victorian Cornish owners, and before Agatha Christie arrived on the scene!
Sandy has been a volunteer with the National Trust for 22 years, principally room-guiding at Bradley Manor and Greenway where she also leads garden tours featuring more than a smattering of history as well as horticulture.
For many years she and her husband, Ian, have also been researching the early history of the Greenway estate, uncovering significant details not previously recorded by the National Trust.
