Colin Vosper will talk about “Marvellous Devon Marble” at the Galmpton Village Institute on Friday 23rd November.
Colin is a trustee of Torquay Museum and member of Babbacombe and St Marychurch Local History Group.
He is well known in the area for his range of well researched and presented talks, always with a level of personal involvement in the topic.
Devon marble, much from the Torbay area, was extensively used in the 19th C in churches and public buildings, worked by highly skilled craftsmen. Much of this is still visible today. Fossils embedded in the marble are of great interest to geologists.
Full details are available in the linked poster. This is a talk not to be missed!
