| Brief Summary of the EventFocusing on the previously unexplored archive of the Cary family of Torre Abbey, join archivists Stuart Tyler and Brian Carpenter for an afternoon learning about how to use these records for your research. As well as finding out more about the history of the Cary family and Torquay, the session will also introduce the different types of records that can be found in this estate collection. In addition to developing an insight into how these documents can help with local history, house history or family history, you will also receive an introduction to how to read old styles of handwriting and understand the formats of old deeds.
